Got to the end of Eien no Filena. It's interesting how much the game reminds me of Magic Knights Rayearth. There's the same sudden jump in difficulty in certain areas, mystical healing spots to help level up, and a very strange level progression near the end of the game. The faq I was working from reccommended that you be around level 49 when you got to the final boss. I was in the high 60's purely thanks to doing chest hunting trips and returning back to the healing spot to heal up. I was levelling, on average, about every five battles. After 50ish, you don't seem to get any new skills.

The music is quite nifty in the game. Graphics aren't stunning, though the battle interface is nifty. Oddly, the final area enemies took a surprising amount of damage from spears even though spears weren't higher in attack levels (I was getting 500ish damage from a spear versus 300ish from a sword.)

I get the feeling that one scene was supposed to be shocking. Near the end of the game, you run into a room with the cliche glass tubes and floating people in them. There's some purple kitty outfits that were worn by some bizarre dancing people earlier, some dead people in a side room, and copies of them in the tubes. It could be that they were killed and cloned somehow? I'm not sure. Still, rather surreal.

You also get an interesting battle where in you're surrounded with all the people who died over the course of the game. It messes up the drama a bit when you find out that the strongest attack against them is the puppy gnawing on them.

Filena seems to end up running off at the end of the game instead of posing in a bizarre princessy outfit. I am curious what's going on near the end of the game since there seems to be a flotilla of little kids with blond hair tottering around.

satsu's translation has only one obvious typo that I saw. The in battle learning text for Gappy's Steal attack is written as Steak. I could be wrong on that since I had the text speed jacked up pretty high.
