Well, I tested the idea of a bias scarf with lace at the edges. It seems to be be working. Knitpicks Shimmer is a lovely yarn, if you ignore that the dying kills any fancy lace. I also tested a pattern using a nifty leaf lace pattern from a Japanese pattern book, but alas, I was one stitch off. Fustrating to find that out.|
Sometime, I should post a poll asking opinions on gauge questions. With pictures. Someone claimed that you should aim for 3 stitches to the inch for a hap shawl like garment (hap shawls = square with wavy edges around it, basically.) I think 3 stitches to the inch unblocked is too wide.
